How can I register/apply?
Please follow the below steps:

  2. Please book a free consultation to know more about our Finnish Language Courses by emailing at info@learnedinternational.com
  3. Choose and pay online for the course selected.
  4. Once payment is done, send the receipt to one of the below numbers via WhatsApp and indicate your full name. AE: +971  56 524 5589/ PH: +63 917 145 5633
  5. Fill up the application form https://learnedinternational.com/applicationform and a confirmation email will be sent together with the invoice.
  6. You will later receive an email confirmation with the enrolment instructions.

Do international students need a visa to study in Finland?

Yes. If you are from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland, you must apply for a student residence permit before coming to Finland once you receive admission from a Finnish university.

The residence permit allows you to stay in Finland for the duration of your degree studies.

Applications are processed by Finnish Immigration Service.

When should I apply for the residence permit?

You should apply immediately after receiving your admission letter from the university to ensure the permit arrives before your studies start.

What documents are required for a student residence permit?

Typical documents include:

• Valid passport

• Admission letter from a Finnish university

• Proof of sufficient funds ( Minimum €800/month financial proof x 12 months)

• Health insurance

• Proof of tuition fee payment

How much money must students show for living expenses?

Students must prove they have at least €800 per month available for living costs in Finland. This equals about €9,600 per year for accommodation, food, and other expenses.

Is health insurance required?

Yes. Non-EU students must have private health insurance covering medical expenses when applying for a residence permit.

Without valid insurance, the residence permit application may be rejected.

Do international students have to pay tuition fees in Finland?

Yes. Most non-EU/EEA students must pay tuition fees for English-taught bachelor’s and master’s programs.

Typical tuition fees range between:

• €8,000 – €20,000 per year depending on the university, location and program.

Is there an application fee to apply to universities?

Yes. Starting January 2025, applicants from outside the EU/EEA must pay an application fee for degree programmes when applying to Finnish higher education.

Can international students work while studying?

Yes. Students with a residence permit for studies may work up to 30 hours per week on average during the academic term.

Students can work full-time during holidays

How long is the student residence permit valid?

The permit is usually granted for the duration of your studies or up to two years at a time and can be renewed if your studies continue.

How must is the Educational Consultancy Fee of LearnED and what is the inclusion of the package:

What are the typical living costs in Finland?

Recommended monthly budget:

• €900 – €1,200 per month depending on city and lifestyle.

Major expenses include housing, transport, food, and insurance.

Can students stay in Finland after graduation?

Yes. International graduates can apply for a post-study residence permit to search for a job or start a business in Finland.

This policy supports Finland’s goal of retaining international talent.

Do students receive public healthcare in Finland?

Students generally rely on private insurance initially. After obtaining a municipality of residence and registering with Kela, they may access public healthcare benefits.
